From Milan with Love

My trip in Milan felt like the shortest trip I have done recently. Like, time flew very, very fast. I feel like this was a demo, a sort of a promise for a next time.

***

The Dome of Milan ( Domul din Milano )

This was the only historical place that I visited and me and my friends took the time to admire and take photos. Of course, we chose the stairs to keep going with the tradition here in Italy. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you should definitely watch my Florence vlog.

Party ( Petrecere )

I have told you before about my friend, Geo, when I visited Amsterdam and Florence. Oh, well, she is the one who gathered us, 5 of her friends to celebrate her birthday here, in Milan. I had such a great time shopping for balloons at Party House and I managed to buy just a few to decorate our Airbnb.

Cafes

I don’t think it’s a secret anymore that the first thing I’m searching for in a new city is a cool café. I like to catch the city vibe wherever I go and a café help me do that. For the first one I had a clear criteria: it had to be close to our Airbnb.

***

And this is how I found L’osteria dell’Utopia, the place I came two days in a row. The atmosphere is relaxed, the serving is really friendly and I tried a little from all they had: a coffee, a pie, a sandwich. All good!

***

Toate bune!

Mint Garden Cafè” was Geo’s idea and it was a delight. The design is a thrill and if you get here you must try New York breakfast. It was delicious although I couldn’t eat even a half of it. For chicks: you can share it with your friend.

Cova was Roxi’s idea. My battery was dead at that time and the photos I took with my telephone didn’t turn out ok. Buuuut I understood that they are famous for the cappuccino and the tiramisu and that’s what I tried. They really were good.

The streets of Milan ( Străzile din Milano )

Getting to know Milan is not easy. Either the time was too short and I didn’t walked around that much, or I haven’t found the right area, but the general feeling is that I missed something. I tried to find the small streets where the whole magic happens and all the locals hide but I didn’t. I found just some “blind alleys”, that were as a matter of fact really beautiful, in a great silence.

***

Am găsit doar niște fundături, superbe ce-i drept, cufundate în liniște.

One of my “regrets” is that I found East Market closed. I really wanted to do some shopping after visiting Vittorio Emanuelle like a museum :))) I definitely need some references giving the fact that my get-lost strategy failed this time.

Dear Milan, see you next time for sure!

Many thanks to my friend Roxana Manea for taking pictures of me during this trip!
