As a woman living in a big city like Bucharest, when it comes to a weekend getaway, the countryside is one of the first places I could think of. This summer is pretty rainy over here and on the seaside as well so the beach was out of the question.

Tărind în Bucureşti, printre primele locuri care îmi vin în minte când mă gândesc la o escapadă de weekend este la țară. Vara asta a fost destul de ploioasă și litoralul nu a intrat încă pe lista mea.
I find villages rather charming and quiet. Although it rained every day, I could still find some piece of mind and took some trips.

Găsesc satele frumoase și liniștite și deși a plouat în fiecare zi, tot m-am relaxat și am făcut câteva “excursii” prin împrejurimi.
On my to-do list are eating local food and wander around. I wanted to explore the surroundings more, but it was so muddy that I had to give up. I enjoyed the fresh air instead and had fun in the garden with the camera. Isn’t that the countryside is so instagramable?

Pe lista mea pentru țară pun de fiecare dată mâncarea locală și plimbările. Voiam să colind mai mult pe câmpuri dar era noroi și am renunțat. M-am bucurat în schimb de brânza și lapte de la localnici și m-am distrat făcând poze în grădină. Așa că-i satul “instagramabil”?
Dumitrești village is in Vrancea country and you can include it if you’re touring through Romania. It looks like a dead end, but I’ve heard you can cross the mountains by bike through here. Sounds pretty challenging. For the car instead, the asphalt ends in Neculele village.

Satul Dumitrești este în Județul Vrancea și îl poți include într-un tur prin România. Arată mai mult ca o fundatură dar am auzit că poți trece munții pe bicicletă pe aici. Parte foarte aventuros. Pentru mașini, în schimb, asfaltul se termină în satul Neculele.
