And as the good things happen to those who… wander (i know, it was different), we explored Barcelona by foot.
Those little streets are amazing and it was very hard not to spend all the money in just one local designer store. I have to admit that even though it was a girl trip, shopping wans’t one of the targets. But I can name some other things that you shouldn’t skip here.
L’Aquarium. I enjoyed the experience like a kid. It’s been a while since I saw the fish and it is really relaxing.
La Sagrada Familia. It’s a must. I don’t know how you do it but you must. I had in my mind those gray images with the cathedral that was always in construction and I didn’t expect to find so much color. I was deeply impressed. I haven’t studied Gaudi but I know he was a very religious man and seeing his creation, I understood. You need a certain feeling to make something like this.
Park Guell. Unfortunately we marked this one in a great hurry but it can take you a whole day.
Helicopter flight. It seemed easy peasy until I got up there and the pilot started to play and to make some pilot tricks. I even tried to make a „relaxed” selfie but the truth is that my adrenaline was somewhere very high. It’s a must especially for that crazy summer of yours.
A day at the beach. This year I decided not to stay in direct sun but i took my whole-piece beach suit, I got under an umbrella and I let the breeze caress me. But only for a short time because my friend Andreuta tempted me with a massage. Me to Andreuta, reagding her Thai masseuse: ”Is she making you a relaxation massage?”. Andreuta: „She didn’t ask me. She’s doing what she knows to do.” Later I discovered myself that if I don’t speak Thai there is no chance for mutual understanding but the massage was fantastic.
Flamenco. It is simply powerful and a must. I think that there are some things in this world that can move you to tears with its beauty and for me flamenco is one of those things.
Rooftop bars. We choose Pulitzer terrace and when eleven noisy girls come to this kind of place only one thing is inevitable: free shots from the barman.
Club night. It wasn’t a typical Spanish fun but everything at Carpe Diem had a special something. Arabic food, champaigne, Pina colada and clubbing, all in the same place.
For my dear Lavinia.
Love, Andreea
